So I'm driving across the country! Seattle, Washington State to St. Pete, Florida. ALONE!
On October 23 I begin class at the US Coast Guard Sea School in St. Pete, Florida to obtain my captain's license. I've decided to drive. This past summer living in Friday Harbor, San Juan Island, Washington State has been a life-changing experience; a lot of difficult decisions were placed before me and I was required to make changes that I struggled with. Now that the summer whale watch season in Friday Harbor has come to an end, I've left the island to embark on my solo journey across the country. I've always been so focused on traveling abroad that I've never really had the chance to explore my own country, and since I'm in need of a bit of alone time/soul searching, I'm hoping in my Jeep...and going.
At this point in time, I don't really have a set route, just some idea of places and people I'd like to see along the way. I have nearly two weeks to make this drive, and I planning on making the most of it. I'll be sleeping in my car the whole way and will also be video blogging, which is something that's pretty new to me.
Stay tuned, and I'll update as often as I can! If you have suggestions about cool things I should see along the way, use the contact form below to tell me!
